Take a break from the Christmas rush and come and share in the Christmas spirit with friends. You are invited to come and join us for my 6th Annual Christmas Cookie Exchange.

When:- Thursday 11th December, 2008 from 7pm – 9:30pm
Where:- at Terri’s – "ADDRESS"  in Australia

You will need to prepare (your choice of one of the following)

- 7 lots of Christmas cookies (home made if possible and all of the same type please). . This needs to be 7 lots of cookies, presented for gift giving (can be as simple as a pretty paper plate wrapped in cellophane… or other suitable presentation). Does not have to be one dozen… you do what is appropriate for your serving dish / budget / time constraints. (We used to ask for 6 lots of 1 dozen / equivalent - feel free to reduce it to 10 or even less – particularly if the ingredients are expensive.)

- 7 family sized Christmassy cakes (each one served on a plate / serving container and done up in cellophane for gift giving) – does not need to be the “traditional” fruit cake but does need to be Christmassy!).

- or 7 of something similar – must be Christmassy and presented to look festive eg “Cookies in a Jar” – if you do this please try the recipe yourself(!) and bring some samples for everyone to try (so we will know what the recipe will be like!)

There will be 7 of us participating and rather than taking one of our own home I suggest you bake extra for your family and leave them at home! My suggestion is that the 7th package be given to the Debbie and the Draper family as they have had a difficult time since Amber’s accident.

Please… tell me what Christmas cookie / cake / “Christmas something” you plan to make - we want them all to be different. If you plan to make one that someone else has already told me that they are making… I will ask you to make something else (so we have a really good variety!). It will be lovely if they all look “unmistakably Christmas”! I would like you to include a copy of your recipe with your plate of goodies (perhaps included on the gift card). Some people like to add the recipient’s name to the card… if you would like to do that the participants names are – Judi, Heather, Kerry, Shannon, Beverley, Jan and Terri. The extra batch with go to Debbie and the Draper family.

On this occasion it will be a ladies only get together. Your family will be glad to see you come home as you will have a lovely selection of Christmas cookies from your friends. These cookies would be a lovely addition to your family’s Christmas treats or they would make lovely gifts to give. For the exchange to work it is important that every participant brings their 7 lots of Christmas cookies or cakes or similar.

I will be providing all of the refreshments.

It will add to the Christmas atmosphere if we all come in Christmas attire (red or green or whatever you consider Christmassy) / Christmas jewellery etc). It should be a lot of fun. I am looking forward to having a lovely time and sharing our Christmas cookies / cakes with our friends. This is becoming a special Christmas tradition of mine… I hope YOU will be a part of it! If you find that you cannot be a part of it this year please let me know ASAP.
