Robin,
Thank you for giving us the idea to start our own neighborhood holiday cookie
exchange. We live in Washington, PA, which is about 35 minutes south of
Pittsburgh. I have lived in this neighborhood for over 4 years now, but we
had yet to make an attempt to try a get together.
I must say that the cookie exchange was a huge success and we plan on making
it an annual event (at someone else’s house next year!) We had 18 ladies
participate. We each brought 10 dozen cookies pre-packaged by the ½
dozen.
Some went ALL OUT on the packaging – just take a look at the photo!
By the time the actual party rolled around, not many were up for eating the
fruits of their labor, so we decided to have appetizers and “spiked”
beverages and save the sampling for later.
We also each brought a gift-wrapped ornament to exchange as part of the
evening’s festivities. We can’t wait to do it again next year!
