Our cookie exchange was attended by ten PTA moms and teachers from Allen at Steinbeck Elementary School in San Jose, CA. We noshed on hors d'oeuvres and hot apple cider in the kitchen first, and then we went in to the dining room to exchange cookies and recipes. It was heartwarming to hear the stories and loving traditions behind each of the cookie recipes. We had a "no kids" rule, but we made an exception for our friend Susan's twin baby girls, "The Twinkies," and we all took turns holding and cuddling the babies. We had two friends who couldn't join us for our event, but they supplied cookies and we exchanged on their behalf. We can't wait for next year's cookie exchange!
