Julie Young's
1st Cookie Exchange

Houston, Pennsylvania

Hello Robin!
Happy Holidays!
I had my Cookie Exchange on Dec. 22, a Saturday, between 2-4.

We had a great turnout; especially with it being so close to Christmas! There were 11 women that attended. I was appreciative to all who participated; I know there was so much to be done the weekend before Christmas.

The ladies made delicious cookies! Our cookies included Snicker-doodles, Ginger Snaps, Crispy Chocolate Peanut Bars, Snowball Cookies, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups, Chocolate Chip with red and green morsels, Grandma's M&M cookies, Peanut Butter Cookies with Hershey kisses, Bar Cookies and Holiday Truffles.

We awarded prizes for "most festive dress" and "best cookie disaster story." We played the "don't say cookie" game. Instead of candy canes we used small Wilton cookie cutters. I think we said cookie so much we didn't catch half of them! It was a simple and fun game.

I gave everyone gingerbread ornaments as favors. I learned a lot from this exchange; and will make some changes next year: date of exchange, more games, less tasting cookies, etc.

Thank you for your web-site suggestions! I read your pages for ideas and inspiration. I bought your book for next year's festivities.

Thank You,
Julie Young, Houston, Pennsylvania
