Robin,
This is my 10th Cookie Exchange! I came upon your web site 10 years ago and
immediately decided to have a cookie exchange and it is the one part of Christmas
that I must do every year. I owe it all to you! You have been so inspiring
to me. I love looking at the other cookie exchanges and getting lots of new
ideas! I wanted to make this 10 year one extra special. So, I copied the
ideas of some of the other participants to your site.
I asked for everyone to come in Christmas PJ's. Two gals who happen to be
sisters-in-law and rode together to the party came in the same pj's. I would
have loved to have seen them when they first saw each other as one picked
up the other. I know it was priceless when they came in. We had to have them
move as they were sitting next to each other and it was too much! Also, we
played the "balloon/pantyhose game that become reindeer antlers" that I saw
on here. That turned out to be hysterical!!!
I have always had us pre-package the cookies. Everyone gets 1 dozen cookies
that are pre-packaged from each participant. This year you brought 7 1-dz.
cookies individually wrapped of one kind of cookie and then you take home
7 dozen cookies and each dozen are different. I have taken a photo of each
one of ours wrapped.
I always have a full table of food and try to have some different foods each
year. Everyone also brings a small sample plate of their cookies. I give
everyone a gift every year and this year it was lighted glass blocks.
I just love this cookie exchange tradition! (In our group photo - I am in
the back row on the left with the red top by my grandson's New York Yankees
tree.)
