Jenn Covington's 1st Cookie Exchange

Jenn's very first Cookie Swap Party Sunday December 6, 2009

This was my first attempt at a cookie exchange party and thanks to your website it was very successful! I invited 11 girls from work to swap (one dropped off her cookies but couldn't stay) I asked everyone to bake 6 dozen, package 5 and display 1 dozen in a creative way.

My theme was 'Gaudy Christmas Sweater' and everyone got into the spirit. I served Shrimp Corn Chowder, Boiled Shrimp w/remoulade shooters, Ribbon Sandwiches, Chicken Caesar Salad and other munchies along with Hot Russian Tea, and wine.

We did 3 of 4 games planned. I bought a giant Christmas stocking and put 12 items in for everyone to guess (but made them wait an hour before writing down their guesses) and also played 'make a Christmas tree' with a piece of construction paper behind your back. This game involved having to tear a shape of a Christmas tree and put sticker ornaments on (without looking!) and then we vote on the best and worst. What a hoot! I had candy cane necklaces at the front door for "don't say cookie" and totally forgot!!!

The best game was the reindeer game with the pantyhose. OMG, laughed ourselves silly!!!! Also voted for best display, best packaged and best tasting cookie. (Once the prizes started coming out, everyone got excited!)

Two days later, everyone is still buzzing about it and talking about next year.

Thank you for your handbook, I really think it would have been overwhelming without having a daily guide to keep organized.

Yeah!
