Jenny Dittenhofer's Left/Right Game

With Christmas approaching, it’s time to write my to-do list to get ready for my Christmas cookie exchange. The first item, right at the top of the list, is to send out the invitations right away! I’m using some leftover Christmas stationary for the invitations and I must remember to invite Mrs. Wright from down the street. I felt downright awful that she was left out last year.

For the buffet, I’ll need to make more food this year. We didn’t have a crumb left last year! There wasn’t even one carrot stick left! The ladies ate left and right up until it was time to leave. It was downright amazing!

Next I’ll go through my cookbooks to find just the right cookie to make for the party. Last year I left out an ingredient so mine didn’t turn out right. I must be careful when I write out my recipe to avoid mistakes. Mrs. Wright gave me a wonderful ginger cookie recipe years ago, but I left it right out on the counter and it got splashed with water, so I can’t read the right side of it now. I’ll have to think of something else that will taste just right. I’ll do that right after I finish this list.

Then I’ll decide which games to play. I’ll write more trivia questions to go with the unused questions left from last year. Right after the trivia game, we’ll play the right/left game. It’s a favorite, with prizes going right and then left, and then right, and right again…and right once more. It’s so much fun! And no one’s left out!

And lastly, I’ll plan for the right Christmas music to turn on right before everyone gets to the party.

I think everyone will have a right jolly old time!
