The Cookies!

Peggy won the Best Presentation prize this year,
which was a ceramic Santa Tray.
Peggy's Presentation:
Pecan Lace Sandwich cookies
with orange buttercream, (which are delicious!) in a golden sleigh.
It really perked up the table.

Iris, who is an architect, usually wins this prize.
This year Iris' presentation deserves an "honorable mention".
Iris made the Chocolate Pistachio Trees,
notice they are situated in a large chocolate bowl.
(I'll see if I can get Iris to write down her instructions.)
...another Honorable Mention is Donna's cookies
which are: Cinnamon Hazelnut Biscotti

They look especially appealing, although all the ladies
knocked themselves out and deserve a round of applause.
Thank you girls!!!

**Rosemary Teriyaki sauce
This is my favorite short rib recipe, it
worked perfectly for meatballs.
My recipe:
Homemade Teriyaki sauce which simply consists of:
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup mirin (seasoned sweet rice wine,
available in the Asian section)
2 tablespoons sugar
(I doubled the above recipe for the amount of meatballs I had)
Then to that I added a heaping tablespoon of fresh garlic and a heaping
tablespoon of ground rosemary.
Marinate the meatballs overnight in the sauce, then cooked them in it.
This sauce makes short ribs 'to die for'!
But I figured it could easily be used on meatballs.

And to Chris' daughters Katie and Ashley for decorating
my gingerbread cookies. You both did a beautiful job!
