Hi Robin:
My name is Cathie Wallace and I live in Kearny, New Jersey and on December
15th, I held my 1st Cookie Exchange.
We had 11 ladies attend, and they were greeted by the "Gingerbread Lady"
outside of our house that I had made.. I actually had made a boy and girl
gingerperson, but the day of the exchange we had such strong winds, that
the "girl's" head blew off, so we had to hotglue her head back on and put
a scarf around her neck, and tied her on to the porch. The boy stayed inside.
They were so cute.
Our cookies came in such festive containers, bags, baskets, tins, tree plates,
and my favorite, snowmen flower pots!!
We had an appetizer buffet, played a trivia game, and had prizes for the
most festively dressed lady. The gal with reindeer antlers decorated with
ornaments won 1st prize.
I had made favors of wooden spoons decorated with ribbon, pine cones, berries,
and cinnamon sticks that each lady can hang in her kitchen.
Boy, it was a lot of work, but I will certainly do it again next year.
Thank you Robin for sharing all of your wonderful ideas, and I wish all a
Very Happy and Peaceful 2002.
Cathie
