Hi Robin,
Well this is the third cookie exchange that I have hosted while living in
Georgia. I think this was the best year ever. There were 13 of us participating
and I have to say the cookies were outstanding the ladies really out
did themselves this year. From left to right pictured are Sylvia Renard,
Linda Waters, Bonnie Flanagan, Marybeth Tierney, Sheryl Matheny, Peggy Adams,
Margie Hix, Lisa Hoover, Molly Morris, Lisa Bailey, Marnie Rector and Gillian
Warren. My friend Carol Kotte did not want to be in the picture so she
volunteered to take the picture.
With so few weekends during the holiday season I wasnt even sure I
would host a cookie exchange this year but when several of the ladies asked
about it before Thanksgiving I knew I had to continue the tradition. My exchange
was Sunday afternoon the 21st of December and perfect timing. Everyone was
finished with decorations, shopping, baking, etc. and ready to just relax
and enjoy the company of friends. It was a wonderful day.
Every year I try to find little thank you gifts perfect for the occasion
for those who participate. I found these lovely cookie cutters at William-Sonoma
and wrapped them in a large cello bag with a recipe for Christmas Sugar Cookies.
I was sorry to hear you lost some of your participants to the bad weather
but I have to say Robin, you totally inspire me each year. I viewed your
pictures and comments of this years cookie exchange and have to say
WOW! I think I will have to raise the bar for next year and be a little more
creative with the food and drink I serve.
Thanks for allowing so many of us to share our cookie exchanges with each
other via your website. You have done a great job and your website is wonderful.
Merry Christmas,
Bonnie Flanagan
