Cathie Wallace's 2nd
Cookie Exchange
Brodheadsville, PA
--2004
Hi Robin:
On Saturday, December 11th, I hosted my 2nd Cookie Exchange. It was especially
exciting as we moved into our new house here in Brodheadsville, Pa. a few
months ago, and the gals from N.J. where we used to live made the long drive
as well as my Sister and Niece from Maryland. We had 11 guest and 9 were
bakers.
Each girl brought 8 dozen indiviually wrapped cookies, all so beautifully
wrapped.
Our cookie selection included:
Cinnamon Balls
Christmas Fruit Cookies
Christmas M and M Cookies
Kiffle
Snickerdoodles
Faye's Cow Patties
Chocolate Mint Cookies
White Chocolate Orange Dream Cookies
Coconut Macaroons
We started off by playing a Christmas Music/Trivia game. The prizes were
snowmen mugs and ornaments. We also had a prize for the 1st to RSVP, and
for the Most Festivally dressed. (We had 2 winners for this one, it was a
tough decision.) I also made little favors for each gal, they were little
cermanic Chirstmas Swans filled with Dove chocolates.
We had a great buffet:
Cold Shrimp Platter
Sausage Balls
7 Layer Dip
Knorr Vegetable dip in a bread basket
Artichoke/cheese dip with chips
Fruit Pizza (superb)
French Silk Cheesecake
Pies
Apple Cider, Wine, Beer, and Soda
You know the best part of this exchange is how great everyone blends. Some
girls did not know each other, but by the end of the exchange you would have
thought they had know each other for years. For other than baking different
cookies, or having different foods for next year I would not change a thing,
it was perfect.
Thank you Robin for your wonderful website and all the time and effort you
must put into it. I rely on it the whole time I am planning.
To All a Very Merry Christmas and a Blessed and Peaceful New Year.
