This was my first exchange. I saw the Food Network episode that featured
your exchange, and thought how it would be fun to try it, but never knew
how to get started. Then surfing the web for ideas, I found out that you
had a website that tells you all you need to know. Not only was it a very
fun, and festive gathering, but I think some of my friends now want to throw
their own cookie exchanges.
We had a really nice spread of cookies. All flour based (like you
suggested in your rules), and all home made. For the guys we had football
and beer (need I say more). For appetizers I served: buffalo bites (from
Costco), w/ranch dipping sauce, mozz sticks (marinara sauce), chips and chilly
cream cheese dip, crackers and cheese, and lil' smokes wrapped in bacon,
and topped w/brown sugar. The food was a big success.
We all did our swap, then we sampled from the cookies left behind,
and EVERYONE (spouses included) voted on
1.) Best tasting
2.) Best Dressed
My aunt won both categories hands down, and was able to take home
both prizes.
Thank you for all the wonderful pics on the website. They really
do help us "brainstorm" for our own parties.
