Dear Robin,
We have wanted to host a cookie exchange for awhile now, my mother and I
were able to host our first cookie exchange December 11th, 2005 from 3 p.m.
to 6 p.m.. Your site provided me with everything I needed to host this event.
I asked each guest to bring 8 dozen cookies, we had one dozen of each type
to be tasted during the party. One guest couldn't attend, but participated,
we exchanged her cookies for her.
The assortment of cookies were as follows:
-
Butterfingers & Razzle Dazzle
-
Caramel Pecan Candy
-
Chocolate Krinkles
-
Chocolate Revel Bars
-
Chocolate-Walnut Biscotti
-
Cornflake Cookies
-
Cranberry Orange Pinwheels
-
Greek Holiday Cookies
-
Hazelnut Chocolate Fingers
-
Holiday Shortbread Tidbits
-
Kolacky Cookies
-
Peanut Blossoms
-
Peanut Butter Chocolate Cookies
-
Pecan Balls
-
Thumbprint Cookies
We also had appetizers; hot artichoke-spinach dip, spinach dip, beer bread,
taco dip, chips and salsa, cheese ball, shrimp cocktail, celery and carrots,
and spring rolls. We had Celebration Dessert, Holiday Salad, and cream puffs.
We didn't play any games this year, but I know we will next year, you have
great suggestions for games on your website. We drew four names for door
prizes and it was fun to ask everyone the story behind their cookie choice.
Everyone received Snowman Soup and a recipe booklet of all the cookies we
exchanged.
I asked for the recipes in advance and had them copied at Office Depot. At
the end of the exchange we went around the table to exchange our cookies.
I will be hosting another exchange in 2006, thank you so much for all of
your ideas.
Sincerely,
Vanessa Lucas & Joan Luikis
