Hi Robin, Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to and your Family! :o)
We had our 3rd Annual Holiday Cookie Exchange on December 13th, from 4 p.m.
until the last person left! :o)
I had such a terrific time with the ladies, all 23 of them! We played games,
listened to music, ate & drank; and mingled with old and new acquaintances.
I received beautiful emails and calls from the ladies telling me what a blast
they'd had at the party! The pleasure was all mine though; I totally look
forward to planning, and thoroughly enjoy hosting the cookie exchanges each
year. A few of the ladies said during the cookie exchange, that they were
definitely in the Christmas spirit now!
I stepped up the game from my usual 4 dozen cookies and asked everyone to
bake 5 dozen cookies. There were a number of 1st time bakers, and they did
a great job! All of the cookies that evening were beautiful to look at and
yummy!
There were: Lemon Drop Cream Cheese cookies, Magic Cookie bars, Peanut Butter
Blossoms, Macaroon Chewies, Turtle Thumbprints, Vanishing Oatmeal Raisin
cookies, Chocolate Gooey Butter cookies, Oatmeal Butterscotch cookies, Gooey
Butter bars, Coconut Macaroons, Ambrosia Macaroons, Chocolate Macaroons,
Cherry Macaroons, Sweet-Potato cookies, Double Chocolate Chip cookies, and
Assorted Bakery cookies. I provided the ladies with their choice of cookie
tins or cookie pails to carry away their cookies in.
We played the Left Right game with jingle bells as the musical backdrop,
and passed Silver or Red Votive candle holders. We played Match the Cookie
Memory game - the winner is Cutie. We played Lucky 13 - the winner is Celeste.
We judged the Most Festive Holiday Attire - the winner is Angela. I asked
what 3 Cookies I mentioned in my Invite - the winner is Anita. We judged
the Most Original Cookies (SweetPotato) - the winner is Alana. The prize
for the game winners was a beautiful hand-made basket by Rosline who does
a wonderful job each year.
We dined on Glazed Spiral Ham, Sweet/Sour Meatballs, Buffalo Wings, Vodka
Rigatoni, Stringbeans, Tossed Salad, Sweet Potato Souffle, Corn Souffle,
Potato Salad, Rolls, Spicy Hummus w/Crackers and Olives. We had Spiced Wine
Punch, Christmas Punch, Wine, Choc. or Peach Martinis; and a Chocolate Cake
for dessert.
I sent the lovely ladies on their Merry way with a Mini Holiday Lotion Trio
as a parting gift. Looking forward to viewing the 2008 parties, and my 4th
Annual Cookie Exchange 2009!
Robin thank you so much for all that you do to bring us women together to
swap cookies!
Take good care,
Gloria
