Robin,
I like your site. Here are a few pictures of my 2008 cookie exchange
party.
All my guests bring their cookies pre-wrapped/boxed/bagged. They do get
creative.
Every year I decorate the table area in a different color theme. Last
year
was all silver. I also did a Christmas Tea theme for dinner this year (tea
sandwiches, scones and Devonshire cream, fruit spreads, nut breads, mandarin
salad, butternut squash soup, and desserts). I served teas and spiced cider.
Last year was a sit-down dinner.
After dinner, we do a $10-$15 gift swap. I buy each of my guests a bag
of goodies (usually Christmas decorations). I also provide Christmas
Poppers for each guest. They love these silly things.
They all got hats in their poppers and gladly wore them! LOL
This is my group for this year. Next year, I hope to have 9 guests
and me making a total of 10. It's a good size for my home.
My guests really look forward to my annual event. They say they wouldn't
miss it for nothing. I enjoy having the party and begin working on it in
January of each new year. I put a lot of thought and planning into. I begin
planning early, so that I can enjoy preparing for it at a slow pace and not
feel so overwhelmed when the actual time arrives. This year, I had all my
guests bring 1-1/2 dozen cookies (because the group was smaller). It worked
out great. There were plenty of cookies to take home to the families and
their friends. I really love having this event. My guests look forward to
seeing what I plan new for each year! I look forward to surprising them!
