Hi Robin:
On December 13th I held my 6th Annual Cookie Exchange. We had 9 gals attend,
7 who were the bakers. We started out with a few games of Christmas Bingo,
Christmas Trivia And guess how many candies in the Christmas Candy Jar. Our
prizes consisted of a Gingerbread Heart Plaque, Santa measuring spoons and
spatula, snowmen candy dishes with candy,
And the most festively dressed gal Carol received a decorative snowman wearing
ice skates. I also give a baking cookbook every year as a prize. My parting
gifts this year were handmade plastic canvas stocking ornaments, and little
Christmas Aprons to cover your dish detergent bottles.
We had a terrific appetizer buffet consisting of Shrimp, Stromboli, Sausage
Balls, Buffalo Wings, Salami with Cream Cheese, Mini Quiches, Pineapple Cranberry
Minis, Meatballs, Karolines deviled eggs, Brie with nuts and cranberries,
and Minervas Mexican Cheese Dip. We had a great Gingerbread Trifle
for dessert.
Our cookies consisted of Coca Oatmeals, Cranberry Orange Pinwheels, Chocolate
Chip, almond Raspberry Nutella Cookies, Rugala, Snowballs and Walnut Specialties.
For all of the planning that is involved, the time of the exchange goes by
so fast. There always is such a warm glow in the house and everyone has such
a good time together. I have been blessed with such terrific friends.
Thank you to you Robin, you are always such an inspiration.
Theres more, much more to Christmas than candlelight and cheer, Its
the spirit of sweet friendship that brightens all year.
Its thoughtfulness And kindness, its hope reborn again, for peace,
for understanding, and for goodwill to men.
