Hello Robin,
I live in Mississippi and last year was my 1st cookie swap. I have several
friends that live in St. Louis and loved seeing the pictures from the party.
My friend Kelli wanted me to come up to her house and help her host a cookie
swap. The dates just weren't working out for a Christmas swap so we decided
to have a summer Luau cookie swap party in July. It was a blast!
Everyone was told to wear their best Hawaiian attire and display their
cookies creatively. We had twelve swappers. Kelli is the one in the lime
green grass skirt and I am in the pink grass skirt. We played the pantyhose
game, purse scavenger hunt and also the plunger relay game (what a funny
game!) We played the song "I'm too Sexy" for the best dressed Catwalk and
also voted for most creative display. When everyone RSVP'd they also gave
me their flip flop size. So I then randomly assigned everyone a flip flop
size to bring. We then swapped flip flops, it was a twist from the Christmas
version of swapping socks or slippers.
All the girls received a beaded foot thong, you can see them in the flip
flop picture. Everyone also left with the cookie recipe book. The most creative
display went to the Key Lime bars decorated with the margarita glass and
lime slices! We had such a great time and it was great to swap cookies in
the summer! So, cookie swaps aren't always just for the traditional Christmas
swap :-) !! Thanks for your great website!
