Hi Robin,
Last night was my 5th annual cookie exchange. I had a great turnout of 25
women. They all really outdid themselves, as every cookie that entered the
door looked like it was straight out of a magazine! The first hour was spent
socializing with appetizers and chocolate martinis, wine, sparking water,
and lemonade. The second hour was spent voting, awarding of prizes, and
exchanging.
I try to keep my timing on a tight schedule so that the party lasts exactly
2 hours, so those who have to leave at the end, can without missing anything.
And those friends who want to linger, can! The only game was Christmas trivia.
I had one of the teenagers do this, and every 10 minutes or so she
would ask a question, the first one to yell out the answer got to pick from
the gift basket full of misc items- cookie scoop, Christmas CD, etc
Ive attached a picture of the best display winner (I also
had a prize for Most Festive, and Tastiest looking), a picture of the table,
the exchange, and myself and my daughter. I tell friends that children are
optional, and most of them choose to leave theirs at home. Although none
of my friends bring their children, mine stays because this is a big night
for her as well.
