Margaret and I hosted our 4th annual cookie exchange this year. We had
about 30 friends at the cookie exchange. We gave prizes for Best Presentation,
Most Unique Presentation and Most Tasty Cookie.
Our theme was Gingerbread boy and girl. For one of our games, we read
the story, The Gingerbread Girl, and every time the word girl was mentioned
we passed the prizes to the right. The persons with the prizes at the end
of the story got to keep their prize.
We played another game called, "I'm going to a cookie exchange and
I'm bringing _____." The object of the game is to figure out what each person
can and cannot bring to a cookie exchange. Since my name is Diane I would
say, "I'm going to a cookie exchange and I'm bringing donuts." (I am allowed
to bring donuts because my name begins with a D) Margaret would say, "I'm
going to a cookie exchange and I'm bringing marshmallows." (She is allowed
to bring them because they start with a M like her name) The next person
(who hasn't caught on to the pattern) might say, "I'm going to a cookie exchange
and I'm bringing paper." I would say, "Sorry Linda you can't bring paper!"
Linda won't understand why she can't bring paper but it is because her name
doesn't begin with a P.
It is so funny trying to watch everyone figure out what they can and can't
bring to the cookie exchange!
We are already planning our 5th Cookie Exchange for 2011!
