Hi Robin!
I just had my 6th annual cookie exchange, and it was fabulous as ever! I
had 20 women, plus a few kids. My 10 year old daughter and her friend really
helped me out as I put them to work assigning numbers to the cookies as they
arrived (for voting later) and assisted the ladies with labels and hanging
their coats, etc.
My party is two hours. The first hour is socializing, eating and enjoying
a drink of choice. The second hour we vote, I tally votes and award the three
prizes for most festive, best display and tastiest looking cookie. Once the
prizes have been awarded then we start the exchange.
We go around the table and take two of everything. Then, we round again taking
two, until all cookies are gone. (Each woman brings 4 dozen). By the time
the exchange is done, the second hour is usually done. Of course my friends
are always welcome to stay longer, but I know that some would like to get
home to their families, etc.
Just look at the amazing displays and beautiful cookies the women made this
year! It is truly spectacular! I wish I would have taken pictures of the
food as I tried some new recipes this year like bacon wrapped water chestnuts,
asparagus wrapped in herbed cheese and prosciutto, and others. Of course
we had chocolate martinis, red and white wine, sparkling water, pink lemonade
and water.
Thanks!
