The 6th Annual Christmas Cookie Exchange was held December 12, 2010 and
was loads of fun as usual! I always TRY to keep it simple, but alas I don't
do that very well!
The gauntlet was thrown by Brooke Adams down earlier in the year to win the
"Best Cookie Presentation". Last year's winner Pam Christensen (with her
"Gingerall Hospital"-outrageous-ckeck the pictures from last year) made a
solid run at another win! However, this years winner was Marie Behner with
her Cookie Train. I wanted to save it, but I was over-ruled. <G> A
custom built train, cars and caboose! Adorable!
The signature drink this was a Wine Punch (much like a Sangria), no dry
ice this year after last years explosion!
A Chocolate fountain with dippers:
Pirouette Chocolate Hazelnut Rolled Wafers and Strawberries
Philly Cheesy Pizza dip with Bagel chips
Shrimp Cheese Ball with Toasted Baguettes
Seasoned Meatballs with Marinara
Ham Roll Up with Pickled Asparagus
Christmas Fudge
The Left-Right game is always a hit. We also did a trivia game I found
on the Internet. Problem was (this is funny) some of the girls carry Blackberries
with Internet connections. THEY FOUND THE ANSWERS on their phones!!! They
had to share the prize....and I now know I'll have to dig a little deeper
for a trivia game.
I appreciate the effort my family and friends put into being here and
making this a fun tradition! My Great Aunt Madeline Johnson came from California
to attend and another Auntie- Margaret Adams and sister Diane Young made
it in from East Mesa just a 50 mile drive! Not to mention the friends right
here in my neighborhood!
Everyday is a new adventure!!!
