Debbie Stolpman's 9th Cookie Exchange
Reno, Nevada

This year I changed my cookie party from a mid week evening to a Sunday afternoon, December 11th. I had a very low turn-out compared to the usual 20+ gals that usually join in and say they look forward to this party. I know the low turn out was due to a combination of a warmer than usual winter day keeping gals at home with their families or outdoors, Christmas tree decorating for some, and, over all, because it was a Sunday. I think I will stick with a weekend evening again for next year--I think that is just how this group would like it.

As it was, 7 gals showed up ready to have fun. Because my theme was Reindeer Games, of course, we played the reindeer antler game filling balloons in panty hose and put the antlers on your head thing. I've always wanted to do that game you see! It was silly fun. We had cookies and candies this year, as I made it an "anything goes", although, all but one brought cookies anyway. The gals who joined in were Brenda, who brought an almond joy type of coconut candy, Pam, with her Santa's Whiskers cookie--coconut whiskers, Janice brought frosted sugar cookies with delightful designs, Raylene, who has won several years in a row, including this one, for her best themed cookies.

You wouldn't believe her cookies that were called reindeer poop cookies actually were quite good though. There was a hilarious poem that went along with it. Neena brought apricot thumbprint cookies, yum. Kathy B.'s shortbread cookies had an added touch of dried cranberries and one newbie this year, Jennifer, made a pan sugar cookie swathed in chocolate and sprinkles.

Until next year, thanks again for all the great ideas and your website, Robin.
