Hi Robin,
Thanks for posting pictures, my friends really love seeing pics up
on line.
My 2010 Cookie Exchange I'd have to say was my most favourite. The
theme was 'In the Pink'... my favourite colour and I just loved how it all
looked.
The ladies were asked to having something pink in the in their cookies. Following
your advice and having a theme made the party so much fun!
To get the ladies in the mood, I started off with step card save the
dates and then a pink themed invite. We had pink Santa's helpers attend and
all the ladies wore something pink.
We dined on leek soup with pink crème fraiche, quick and salad with
raspberries and pink raspberry dressing. Dessert was pink cupcakes all capped
off with Pink Lady drinks, Pink Champagne and Pink water!!!
The best part of the day is seeing how much my friends get into the
event and support the theme. The Cookie Exchange is on the same day as our
Town's Santa Parade. So once all the fun and swapping is completed, the kids
and hubby's join in and off to the parade we go.
Then its back to our place for dinner.. this year we had 80 people for dinner!!
I couldn't do it without the love, support and chef mastery of my better
half Stew. He is an angel!
To cap off the day Santa makes a special appearance in our very own
living room. The looks on the faces of the kids ALWAYS brings a tear to my
eyes.
I don't think my CE would be as good as it is, if it weren't for your
website and all the ideas you and the other ladies share.
The 'dress the Santa' game made me pee my pants in laugther. And this year
I tried out several of the cookies from your book (pink altered) and gave
out several books as prizes.
Each lady at the end received a pink tin of cookies and a pink house recipe
holder (full of pictures and recipes).
So Thanks to all the ladies on CE! I can't wait for 2011 where the
theme will be Cookies from around the World!
