Left/Right Game
by Janell Krouse

Christmas was RIGHT around the corner. For once in my life, I had not LEFT all my Christmas shopping to the last minute. I could not say the same for my husband, Jerry WRIGHT. I knew he was looking for just the RIGHT present for me, but he always bought something I did not need. He LEFT me no choice. I had to start giving him just the RIGHT hints.

I LEFT the newspaper ad RIGHT on his nightstand. He could not miss it because it was just to the LEFT of his alarm clock. RIGHT at the top, I had circled the charm bracelet with a diamond charm.

Just to be sure, I decided I needed to WRITE a Christmas list, too. The bracelet was number one on the list. I LEFT the list on the fridge, hoping he would notice it.

I had LEFT all the hints I could for my husband. Now it was time to see if he got it RIGHT this year.

On Christmas morning, I looked LEFT and I looked RIGHT, but I did not see the gift I was hoping for. I threw my hands RIGHT up in the air. Husbands are hopeless!

At that moment, a shiny box caught my attention RIGHT below the tree. I could not believe my eyes. Was I seeing RIGHT? It was the only gift LEFT under the tree. And there I found my last gift-the charm bracelet with the beautiful diamond charm that I had practically begged for that year. I put it on RIGHT away. And just as I thought, it fit me just RIGHT!
